Sharon manages the Curation and Data publishing team for the UK Data Service. She oversees all aspects of ingest processing and related metadata creation and ensures that a smooth and efficient service is maintained. Sharon works closely with the Collections Development, User Support and Access teams to ensure a smooth workflow and integrated seamless user experience. She is responsible for the planning and development of ingest activities at the UK Data Service and undertakes research to develop and improve new ingest processing tools.

Sharon completed her Ph.D. in Sociology (Criminology) at the University of Essex in 2005. Her research interests include: the collection of crime data and related methodological concepts, community crime prevention and the concept of 'active citizenship', the role of voluntary groups in local Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships, and late modern criminological theory.
