ARCHIVE TRAINING MANUAL
STAFFING AND MANAGEMENT / OVERVIEW
There are a number of key staffing roles in a digital repository. This section outlines a template management structure and summarises staff roles and responsibilities.
The UK Data Archive's managerial structure shares similarities with the OAIS model as described in the Introduction to this Manual. The UK Data Archive is led by a Director. Four Associate Directors have responsibility for one or more of the OAIS functional areas, services and projects within the organisation, and all report to the Director. A number of middle-level managers report to each of the Associate Directors.
This is a diagramatic representation of the Archive's functional and managerial structure. Each coloured box represents a function and associated team, which in turn form parts of groups managed by an associate director.
* an asterisk indicates an area managed by multiple partners within the cross-organisational UK Data Service.
