Secondary analysis of qualitative data: Opportunities13 March 2012University of Leeds, Leeds

This full-day workshop will take place from 10.00 to 16.00 on 13 March at University House, Unversity of Leeds. It offers training in the method and practice of secondary analysis of qualitative data.

The workshop will use samples from ESDS Qualidata and the ESRC Timescapes Data Archive. The day will begin with presentations that demonstrate how to access and search in both Archives. Participants will then join two practical sessions in which they will gain direct experience of methods and analysis in the re-use of qualitative and qualitative longitudinal data.

Topics will include the role of context in secondary analysis, sampling from archived collections, and analysing data collected by others. Participants will be required to bring data, preferably their own, for use in some of the exercises.

This is one of a series of events, organised by ESDS, in support of the ESRC's Secondary Data Analysis Initiative. These events are designed for researchers who are not current users of these ESRC-funded data resources, and who wish to apply for grants under this Initiative. It is not suitable for students.

This course is free to attend but booking is essential. Cancellations must be received within 5 working days of the event, otherwise a cancellation fee of £25 will be charged.

Booking for this event is now closed.
