The new four-storey Social Sciences Research Building will house the UK Data Archive and the Institute for Social and Economic Research.

The building is set to cost £6.9 million, with just under £5.5 million of the sum coming from the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).

The Social Studies Research Building has been designed by architects Hawkins Brown, and will be constructed by Kier Eastern. It is due to be ready for occupation by January 2007.
