UK Data Archive joins CREST award scheme

Data from the UK Data Archive collection can now be used in the British Science Association's CREST award scheme for young people aged 11 to 19. student

CREST is Britain's largest national award scheme for project work in the STEM subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. It gives students opportunities to explore real world projects in an exciting way.

Students taking part in CREST can access the UK's largest collection of digital research data in the social sciences and humanities - preserved at the UK Data Archive - in their projects and investigations into social sciences.

Jo Weatherall from the UK Data Archive said, "We are delighted to be part of the CREST award scheme and endorse the initiative to encourage students to think about the social sciences when starting their project. The Archive houses thousands of social science datasets which are available to students at no cost."
