Director takes a council seat at US archive

Article dated: 15 December 2010

The Archive has always believed that building collaborative relationships with sister organisations around the globe is essential to establish and maintain international standards and build practices based on real-world experience.

This autumn Matthew Woollard, Director of the Archive and ESDS, continued that tradition when he became an Invited International Visitor to the governing council for the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), based at the University of Michigan. Like the UK Data Archive, the ICPSR maintains a large archive of digital social science data (more than 500,000 files) and supports researchers with a host of educational activities.

The ICPSR council is a governing body of 12 elected members that focuses on all administrative, budgetary and organisational issues.
