Newsletter survey results are in

Article dated: 2 June 2011

This spring we asked what you thought of ESDS News and UK Data Archive News – and you told us. Seventy-one people responded to our online survey, and others provided input through small focus group discussions.

Here are some highlights of what was learnt:

  • most (70 per cent) read both newsletters to some degree
  • most find the newsletters very or somewhat relevant to their professional work and interests – more so for ESDS News (85 per cent) than UK Data Archive News (74 per cent)
  • in general, readers are satisfied with the content, design and layout, but there are some specific areas where we can do better
  • the print version is still popular with 53 per cent of readers, but if given a choice, most would prefer an e-newsletter (48 per cent) or an email with a PDF attachment (30 per cent)
  • most (78 per cent) are likely to use website links listed at the end of articles

Thank you to those who participated. The winner of the £50 Amazon gift voucher, drawn randomly from those who entered, is Debbie Price of King's College London.

We will use the detailed results to identify and make improvements in forthcoming issues. In the meantime, please keep sharing your feedback at Communications enquiries.
