Vacancy: Data Access Support Officer for Administrative Data Service

Article dated: 11 April 2014

The Administrative Data Service (ADS) is seeking a Data Access Support Officer to establish and grow the service by supporting frontline data access and delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the ADS as part of the innovative Administrative Data Research Network (ADRN), a newly funded national infrastructure designed to support researchers in linking and analysing routinely collected administrative data, providing a rich new resource for economic and social research.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for checking and processing orders to allow research access to administrative data and linked data. You will also prepare proposals for the ADRN independent review panel in addition to overseeing data access applications in general. You will assist the User Services Officers in answering and - where appropriate - referring user queries and supporting users through registering, online browsing, finding, ordering, and preparing project proposals. You will also process registration applications and assist with all aspects of data access.

We are looking for an individual with experience of working in a customer services role or a similar office environment. You should also be organised, self-motivated and have good administrative skills.

The UK Data Archive is certified to the ISO 27001 international standard for Information Security. As this post involves access to government systems, information or data, it will be subject to a staff vetting process. Further information can found in the Recruitment Pack.

This is a full time, fixed-term position until 30 September 2018 with an annual salary in the range of £24,289 to £27,318. Closing date for applications is 30 April 2014.
