Data Centre Facilities Manager wanted

The UK Data Archive is seeking a talented and enthusiastic person to join the Digital Preservation, Systems and Security team to manage the facilities of our new data centre.

This opportunity would suit an established IT systems professional looking to broaden and consolidate their technical, security management and business development skills in an environment which encourages continuous personal development.

You should have proven systems management skills and be experienced in systems security management.

The successful candidate should be able to communicate effectively, at all levels, with people of varying technical competence and have experience developing relationships with external clients in an IT environment.

This is a full time, fixed-term contract until 30 September 2018.

The UK Data Archive, located at the University of Essex Colchester campus, is curator of the UK's largest collection of digital data in the social sciences and humanities.

It is a partner in delivering the UK Data Service, an online portal for social science data, documentation and guidance. The UK Data Archive coordinates the Administrative Data Research Network, a newly funded national infrastructure designed to support researchers in linking and analysing routinely collected administrative data. Both are vital resources for researchers, policymakers, teachers and students around the world.
