Vacancy: Communications and Impact Assistant

We are seeking a web-savvy and enthusiastic Communications and Impact Assistant, to provide administrative support for the UK Data Service to reach and engage the social science data community to deliver real and measurable impact.

This role will provide you with an opportunity to build your knowledge and experience in a broad range of communications-related skills, including website management, event management, publicity and communications. Working as part of a small but effective and friendly cross-site team based at the UK Data Archive (part of the UK Data Service) your key responsibility will be to support the delivery of the UK Data Service’s Communications and Impact Strategy by carrying out important tasks such as maintaining and uploading accurate content to the website, communicating with users, assisting with managing publicity materials and running events.

We are looking for a motivated person with proven experience of working with content management systems, proofing and uploading content to the web, preferably covering the social sciences or IT. You should have a good understanding of html and of basic editing of images for the web. We require that the post holder has excellent attention to detail, good organisational skills and is scrupulous in record keeping.

This is a part-time (0.6 FTE, 21.6 hour per week), fixed-term position until 30 September 2017.
